Congrats to our 2026 Woman of Note
This outstanding member joined Crosstown in 2021, just as we were coming out of the pandemic and were able to sing together again. But—she’s been a member of at least two other choruses before Crosstown and a member of Sweet Adelines since 2004! Since joining our chorus, Our Woman of Note has stepped up to join the Admin Team, to which she lends clear and thorough opinions of topics we need to discuss. This makes sense, as she also uses her considerable communications talents to help write and direct our chorus shows, this year also serving as the Show Chair. Also, every time we have a performance out in the community, she has written a script to tie our repertoire together in a cohesive presentation. As Events Coordinator, our Woman of Note, along with some key helpers, organizes each retreat, coaching session, and show we produce.
At some point during all these goings on, Kari believed our chorus would be stronger with more bass singers, so this member switched to the bass part for the good of our sound. And—she is always willing to jump back into the baritone part when needed. The mark of a true team player!
She is a woman of many talents, and even while devoting time to Crosstown, she makes time to grade papers as her role as a professor of speech and communication, takes care of her four daughters, her hubs, and her dad when she can. May I present Melanie Michael as the 2026 Crosstown Harmony Chorus Woman of Note!
