Meet our 2025 Woman of Note!
The Women of Note award is given to one member of each chorus each year who rises above and beyond at the chorus level in Region 3.
This outstanding member joined Crosstown and Sweet Adelines as a baritone in 2019—only 5 years ago! -- yet has contributed much since joining. Having a musical theater background from college, she joined our choreography team right away and competed with us in 2019 in the first row! Since then, she has taken over the role of front-line choreographer! In this role, not only does she work out routines for competition songs and other uptunes, but this member has also created videos of choreo for our website, works with our coaches to improve our competition performance, and has helped to review and update the entire holiday music library, including the learning tracks, videos and sheet music.
And—as our main choreographer, our new WON contributed greatly to our last two shows! Tap-dancing! Water ballet!! She has become a wonderful mentor and teacher of our visual performance. She is clear in her communications, is kind and encouraging when teaching, and has a sense of humor!
At some point during all these goings on, our director believed our chorus would be stronger with more lead singers, so this member switched to lead for the good of our sound. And not only has she excelled in this part, she has also become the lead section leader! Her excellent communication skills have helped greatly in this role as well, by helping the leads with notes and phrasing when they need it, and even making learning tracks herself!
Along with all of this, our new WON helps with the Weekly Reminders when needed, and provides back-up technical support for the website.
May I present Amanda as the Crosstown Harmony Chorus Woman of Note of 2025!
