Cheering on the Lakeshore Chinooks

We had the privilege of singing the National Anthem at the Lake Chinooks final baseball game of the season on Saturday, August 12. The Lakeshore Chinooks are a college-level baseball team in the Northwoods League. Many of their alumni have gone on to play in Major League Baseball, including Owen Miller of our Milwaukee Brewers. We hope we made it a memorable experience for all who attended.

Fundraising at the Ozaukee County Fair

Crosstown Harmony Chorus members and friends once again were serving up drinks at the Ozaukee County Fair. Since 1859, the Ozaukee County Fair has been offering residents and visitors great traditional fair entertainment such as live music, truck & tractor pulls, a full midway, fireworks, demolition derbies, horse shows, contests, 4-H and livestock exhibitions & judging, kids entertainment and more! Thanks to all that came out to grab a drink from us, tipped generously and enjoyed the fair!

CTH Hits the Stage at West Allis Ala Carte

West Allis A La Carte is a street festival that occurs the first Sunday in June. It provides a venue to unite businesses, schools, churches, civic organizations, community artists, youth programs, and the City of West Allis with the community and with each other. Crosstown Harmony Chorus was so excited to be a part of this amazing event.

Meet our new Admin Team

Crosstown's new Admin Team was installed last Monday evening by former Crosstowner and Director of Fox Valley Chorus, Heather Johnston! We also celebrated Milestone Anniversaries in Sweet Adelines, and watched our competition video. The theme was Ocho de Mayo, and everyone had a great time!

Harmony Night with The Admirals

During our #roadtoregionals, Crosstown Harmony had the chance to sing the National Anthem at a Milwaukee Admirals hockey game. Thank you to the Admirals for inviting us & to all who came out in support of our chorus and our great hockey team!

Thank you for the warm Send-Off

Crosstown Harmony members have been busy preparing for their upcoming competition and had a Send Off Party to show off their stuff! Featuring performances from Crosstown Harmony Chorus and Cool Beans. It was an evening of music and fun, and we loved seeing everyone who came out to support us. Thank you!

Building Better Singers

Crosstown Harmony welcomed special guest coaches Karen Sweeters and her sister Gina Kaiser to share their knowledge and skills in barbershop during our semi-annual weekend retreat. With over 35 years in Sweet Adelines International, Karen has gone from singing "on the risers" to directing Harmony on the Sound, 15 time North Atlantic Region 1 Champions, located in Trumball, Conneticut. She's also a Certified Judge in the Expression Category and has escalated to the top level of Sweet Adelines musicianship as a Master Director. Gina Kaiser is a Visual Specialist, Choreographer and Showmanship Judge extraordinaire. Together these two lead Crosstown in a weekend of learning and fun.

Delivering the Gift of Music this Valentine's Day

Crosstown Harmony had five quartets delivering Singing Valentines and roses all over town on Valentine's Day. Some highlights include Cool Beans singing for the Wisconsin Lutheran High choir. SASS was on closed-circuit TV singing for patients at a hospital in Racine. Nutz4Notes sang at a grocery store. Mixed Nuts sang during a water aerobics class at a gym. And To The Max visited several senior living centers and sang the oldies for residents! We LOVE our quartets. Consider hiring us to sing to your Valentine next year!

Coaching Makes Us Stronger

On Monday night we had the honor of learning from Master Director 700 Jim Arns!

Jim Arns has directed the Melodeers Chorus since 1988, and is one of an elite group of directors to receive the Master Director 700, created in 2009 by Sweet Adelines International to honor musical directors whose choruses score 700 points or more (out of a possible 800) in Regional Competitions.
