Crosstown Harmony is honored to welcome the co-directors of Choral-Aires Chorus, Bonnie Fedyski and Amy Brinkman to an evening of coaching with us. Togetehr they have a combined 50 years’ experience with Sweet Adelines choruses and quartets. The two women have more in common than directing the regional championship chorus. They are sisters who have been singing together since childhood. Since joining the Chorus—both joining in the early 1990’s—each woman has served in a variety of leadership and administrative roles for the Chorus itself and for Sweet Adelines organizations, including Region 3, to which the Chorus belongs. Adding to their deep musical qualifications, both have been International Quartet Champions. Both women have been involved with barbershop music for nearly 30 years, and each has held a variety of leadership positions in the Chorus, as well as in the region to which the Chorus belongs. Serving as choreographers, section leaders, on the Chorus’ music team, and handling administrative duties for Region 3 and the International organization’s Coronet Club, has prepared the duo to direct the Choral-Aires Chorus with a depth of experience, and a perspective rare for a director. The two are a great asset to the Chorus and are well loved by Chorus members.
Bonnie and her husband of nearly 40 years, Ron, live in Wheaton; they have four grown children and four grandchildren. Bonnie’s hobbies include caring for her grandchildren, all things barbershop music related, and sharing time with friends. Amy has been married to her husband Jim for nearly 25 years. They and their three children live in Hanover Park. Her interests outside of her musical commitments include reading, shopping, decorating, and spending time with her family and close friends.
